WEEKEND RECAP

We did absolutely nothing the entire weekend. And it felt so good. Happy first week of Spring you all!
SPRING STYLE
March 19, 2016 • SHOP
Happy Spring you all! We are celebrating in Kentucky with 40 degree temps and cloudy rainy days. I have an appreciation for all four seasons we get to experience here in the Bluegrass. I love the blossoming trees in the spring, the hot summers, colorful fall, and snowy winters. But towards the end of every season I'm always anxious for the start of the next. I stare at our empty porch every morning dreaming of the day we get to put out our lounge chairs and plant some flowers. And anyone who has ever experienced life with a toddler knows the true meaning of cabin fever. But I am trying to rest easy through the waiting for warm weather and soak up life cozy on the couch. In the meantime, my heart is fluttering with all the spring styles coming out. I am in the process of building Everly's spring wardrobe, and oh my goodness there is some good stuff out there.
Oh all the pinks and baby blues. Gap and Old Navy's Spring line is too cute. And of course Target has several gems as well. I am so sad that Everly is now too big for the baby section. I browsed through there for old times sake and it was painful to pass up on all the adorable one-pieces and bloomers. But at least this Spring I get to take advantage of having a walking toddler and put her in all the dresses I can find. That wasn't possible with a crawling baby last year.
I hope you all have a great weekend! Fingers crossed for a warm Easter! We are off to the store for last minute Easter prepping.
LIFE LATELY
March 18, 2016 • MOTHERHOOD
Our family currently has a lot going on. Good changes and advancing moves are coming and we are so excited. Life is crazy, but life is great. God is good.
Most recently I have accepted an offer for an accounting position at Century Aluminum. My last day at Wendell Foster's Campus will be March 24th. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. This offer literally fell in my lap out of no where. I was not looking for another job. I love my role at WFC. My coworkers and supervisor are incredible people and will be sorely missed. The flexibility at WFC is a full-time working mother's dream. Change is scary for me. I like my comfortable bubble and rarely venture outside of it. But this was a great offer and I decided I was too young not to take advantage of better opportunities. So I'm making the leap and checking it out. Fingers crossed.
Everly is currently bouncing back and forth between the 18 month old room and 2 year old room. She has been on a biting spree. So we are hoping a new environment and older toddlers will deter her from doing it again. When we first entered the mobile baby room (2 classrooms ago) she became the victim of biting several times. Now that she has learned the tricks of the trade she has taken over as the biter. She is not the only offender in the class, but must be the most frequent one. My over reactive mommy heart sunk having to take my baby to the 2 year old room. But I receive frequent pictures and updates from the teachers reassuring me she is doing just fine. I feel terrible that my sweet and innocent baby is hurting her friends. But the director reassured us it was completely normal behavior. I'm clinging to the hope that once she is able to talk more the biting will stop. It's a little embarrassing to have the "misbehaving" child (for lack of a better word). It's almost like taking the walk of shame with my 19 month old to go to the very back of the building to the 2 year old room. Her teachers promise though that she is a very loving and well behaved toddler despite the occasional biting. Oh the joys of toddlerhood.
PS- Max has joined the family again! We are all very happy to have him with us, especially Everly. We left him with Nana for a while when we moved to our apartment to help keep her company and ease the transition of her empty nest syndrome.
Everly has also learned how to announce when she wets or dirties her diaper, which has been fun. The other day we were shopping in Old Navy and Momma had pressed baby's patience just a little too long. We quickly made our way to the forever long checkout line. After everyone and their mother signed up for the store credit card we finally made it to the register when Everly decided to yell "I poo!" Over and over. "I poo! I poo!" as she grabbed at her diaper. The entire check out line was giggling. Not embarrassing at all. Anxiously speed walking to our car with shopping bags in one hand and a 27 pound toddler in the other I prayed that we had wipes somewhere under one of the seats. I finally got Everly undressed in the trunk only to realize she really had not pooped. We have now learned not to fully trust her new announcement. She uses "I poo" interchangeably with both wet and dirty diapers. Which has actually turned out to be my advantage. When she hollers at me I respond asking if she needs a new diaper. She always enthusiastically replies "yeah!" and runs to her room. Rarely do we have wrestling matches to get a new diaper on anymore. Small win for Momma.

We have been attending a parent & tot tumbling class with Everly once a week. She absolutely loves it. Her favorite by far is the trampoline. Her teacher couldn't believe how well she jumps. (Proud Mom and Dad moment) But she's also doing great with the mini balance beam and front and back rolls too. The bars are a little advanced for us. So we mainly sit and watch since she's not a big fan of them yet. Our biggest struggle is waiting our turn. Someone please provide tips on how to explain to a 19 month old that you can jump after Peyton finishes. But other than that she is doing so well. And it has been something fun and different that we can do together. Plus by the time we get home she is exhausted and ready for bed, which has been great for Mommy!
I almost died from the cuteness when I put her in her first leotard. Take a look at this quick snapshot I took of Everly to send to my mom.
In other news, the pre-building process has been a painfully slow one. We have had more blueprint meetings than I care to count. It's beginning to get a little frustrating and stressful. The man our contractor enlisted to draw up our blueprint is very backed up. It takes weeks before we can see him again after we make changes. But I am hopeful once we can get a blueprint finalized it'll be a smooth and faster process. I can't wait to share the final drawing with you all!

DINING ROOM INSPIRATION
March 15, 2016 • SHOP
As mentioned in my last post, we finally got ourselves a new kitchen table! Our poor couches have taken a beating from our toddler's meals for months now. So we finally decided to invest in a little table before we had to invest even more into new couches.
I love it. It fills the small space nicely and the dark chairs coordinate so well with our kitchen cabinets. Now we just have to get something on the wall to complete the space!
I hate a ton of wall space (one of the downsides of an apartment). I always have a hard time choosing coordinating art. And you can't put a pretty mirror on every wall in the apartment. I'd prefer to have a large window there. But since we can't always have everything we want, I'm thinking either a gallery wall of mis-matched prints, two large prints side by side, or maybe a couple of long photo ledges. We have a small console table with a mirror above it on the opposite wall, so we need something different to fill the area above. Here is some of my inspiration...
I know the nook could probably use a rug, and definitely a new light fixture. We just don't want to invest too much into this space since it may not be what we want in our new house when we finish building.
What are your thoughts/suggestions? We have a blank slate right now desperate for some art!
BIRTHDAY WEEKEND
March 14, 2016 • HOLIDAYS, MOTHERHOOD
As most of you know, I turned 28 last week! Happy Birthday to me! Chad was out of town for part of the week so we celebrated over the weekend, and what a nice weekend it was.
Saturday he took me on the road trip to Ikea I've been dying to make. He was such a good sport as he pushed the cart right beside me through all two floors and two hours of the entire store. He sat on every couch I asked him to check out, nodded at every picture I pointed at, and was so present the entire trip. He has no idea what an incredible gift it was.

I finally got my kitchen table complete with four chairs. Chad went straight to work putting everything together as soon as we arrived home. I have a winner you all. He is the best of the best. The chairs lasted all but 13 hours before Everly decided to make one of them her rocking chair as she crashed backwards breaking one of the backs of the chairs. Luckily no one was hurt and Chad was able to pop it back into place without noticing the crack.
Anyway, on the way home from Cincinnati we stopped in Louisville for dinner. We stumbled upon the neatest pizza place called Garage Bar. The pizza was delicious and the atmosphere was so inviting and relaxing. Not to mention the weather was absolutely perfect.
We wanted to stay the rest of the night to hang out and explore the area. But wanted to get home before Everly's bed time even more, so we headed home. But not before stopping to get some absolutely delicious cookies from a neat little bakery, Please & Thank You.
The next morning we spent inside as the rain poured down for what seemed like hours. We treated ourselves to some of our favorite Rolling Pin donuts while we made Lucky Charm Rice Krispy's in celebration of the upcoming St. Patrick's Day.
I had such a fun and relaxing weekend to celebrate my 28th, just what this momma needed. But Monday still came too soon. I hope you all have a great week! Thanks for stopping by!

FRIDAY FAVORITES
March 11, 2016 • SHOP
Happy Friday everyone! Along with my favorite day of the week comes a round up of some of my current favorite things.
These mama and mini matching dresses from Old Navy are so adorable, and perfect for Memorial Day or 4th of July! I couldn't get them in my bag fast enough when I saw them.
These toddler sized fringe sandals are too perfect for spring. I wish they carried them in my size! But I guess these from Target will do for now.
Speaking of Target, have you all checked out the new Pillowfort line?! I absolutely love this unicorn head. It would be the perfect addition to a sweet little gallery wall in a baby girl's room. These super cute throw pillows, (here, here and here) this sheet set, and comforter are perfect for summer! I'm thinking these might be the perfect touches for Everly's big girl room when we transition her to a twin bed this summer. (Note: the sheet set says not sold in stores, but I found them at my local Target!)
Both of these swimsuits are burning holes in my shopping cart waiting for a good sale to purchase. I just received a coupon code for 40% off (FFBEST) so today might just be the day! I love the ruffle straps and the summery prints! We are dreaming of sunshine and warm weather!
I have got to get some color on our apartment walls. It's taking me back to Chad's college days where all his apartment living space had was a couch and a couple of fold-up chairs. Minted has SO many great affordable options. I am loving this one, this one and this one.
And to round up my Friday favorites, nothing beats baby rolls in a cute pair of baby rain boots.

WEEKEND RECAP
March 7, 2016 • MOTHERHOOD
We had such a fun weekend in Nashville the last couple of days. My mom purchased tickets for my sisters and I to see the US women's soccer team play in the SheBelieves Cup at Titans Stadium. So we made a weekend of it, just us girls.
The weather was beautiful. When we first arrived on Saturday afternoon we met friends for dinner at The Chop House, which was amazing by the way. Later that night Courtney and Mom went to the Blake Shelton concert while Everly and I hung out in the hotel room. We jumped on the beds, rode the elevator up and down several times, charged some snacks to the room (thanks Nana) and watched Elmo until way past our bedtime.
The next morning Everly decided to sleep in until 9:00?! I finally decided to wake the child up before we missed the hotel breakfast! What a treat that was. After checking out of the hotel we went exploring downtown and of course made the necessary stop at Opry Mills mall. The highlight of the trip, next to the soccer game of course, was definitely Sprinkles. They have this adorable cupcake ATM you can order from right outside their bakery. Since my birthday is this week Mom treated us to a dozen of the most delicious birthday cupcakes. Score!
It was unexpectedly hot at the game. We all showed up in pants and sweatshirts and were sweating within 20 minutes of the start of the match. Unfortunately for the rest of us, it wasn't socially acceptable to take our pants off to cool down.
Everly didn't care much for the cupcakes. She preferred the chocolate dots that topped all of them, which was fine by me. We made a great cupcake eating team.

It was a great game to watch though. USA ended up winning 1-0 with a last second goal by Alex Morgan during stoppage time. We also heard it was a record crowd of over 25,000 people. The atmosphere was incredible. And Everly was so well behaved the entire weekend which made it extra nice.
Thanks to Nana for such a fun weekend! I definitely want to go back again and see the rest of what Nashville has to offer. Maybe tour the backstage of the Grand Ole Opry! We have the Monday blues for sure over here. I hope you all have a great work week!
EASTER BASKET GOODIES
March 3, 2016 • HOLIDAYS, SHOP
Easter is probably my favorite holiday next to Christmas (do I say that every holiday?). A day dedicated to fun, food, and faith makes me so excited to celebrate. I absolutely love playing the Easter Bunny (and Santa for that matter). I have been organizing Everly's Easter basket since the day they took Valentine's Day off the shelves. Give me all the colorful eggs, pretty pastel bows and glittery sandals. Here is a look at some of the goodies that will fill Everly's Easter basket.
sweater, jellies, Guess How Much I Love You, Wolfie The Bunny, sippy cup, blush check bow, bunny, plastic eggs, bunny bow, chalk, play-doh
The festive cup and books are always classics. And of course a couple of our favorite Emmys Pretties bows will be in there. I cannot wait to put the chalk to good use outside this Spring, especially since Everly loves to color. I'm hoping since she enjoys coloring on my cabinets, mirror and refrigerator, maybe she'll enjoy the sidewalk too.
We also had to get this this adorable pair of festive pajamas for her to wake up in Easter morning. And Target had this adorable bunny cotton tail that I plan to clip on to Everly's sweet little bottom to send her to daycare in the week before.
Since we are living the apartment life we plan to do our Easter egg hunting at Nana's after church. I am so excited for Everly's first hunt. There is an adorable sign set at Target that I am itching to get my hands on for the occasion. Planting some magic jelly beans with her is on the agenda as well. I have this vision of her lighting up at the sight of a yard full of suckers.
And because no post is complete without a picture of the babes. Here are a couple from 2015 Easter morning.
I hope you all are having a great week! Up next is the hunt for the perfect Easter dress!
